A Taste of Tathra

Tathra restaurants and cafes source seasonal, locally-grown produce where possible. Farm fresh eggs, vegetables, fruits and olives from local orchards, herbs from local gardens.The Sapphire Coast with its unpolluted water has an abundance of marine life providing plenty of fresh seafood for our plate.

Local delicous and creamy oysters, Eden mussels, prawns, black fish, flathead, bream, lobster, abalone and much more. The freshly shucked Wapengo and Nelson Lagoon oysters have been winning awards for the past 10 years, and can be purchased direct from Tathra's oyster growers.

Fat Tony's Bar and Grill

Set in the historical Harbourmaster’s House at the top of town.

Fat Tony’s has become one of Tathra’s best known night time destinations. Open since 2007 an extensive renovation to the original building has created a bar, and dining spaces, that people constantly describe as having ‘a great feel.’  The team at Fat Tony’s aim to provide a consistent experience, with quality dining in a relaxed, friendly and often buzzing atmosphere.

From a couples night out to family dinners or work parties, or just dropping in for a drink, locals and visitors (many once/twice a year ‘locals’) are always welcome.  

Regular hours for dinner are Tuesday to Saturday night with the bar open from 5:30. Hours are extended during holidays and long weekends.

The Golden Sands

The Wharf Locavore

The Tathra Wharf has changed roles in recent years, but is still the hub of activity in Tathra.

Today the Wharf houses a Maritime museum upstairs and underneath it the Wharf Locavore offers scrumptious fare, great coffee, refreshments, and great service. A gallery showcases the talent of Tathra's local artists, plus a fine selection of jewellery.

Out on the restored platform the fishing is keen, with bait and tackle available, and the view is spectacular, more so when the whales and dolphins are in the bay.
