LEARN TO SURF
Join a Coastlife Adventures learn to surf lesson at Tathra Beach and you will be riding the waves in no time. Friendly qualified local instructors will share the tips and tricks to get you hooked for life. Lessons are tailored to your ability so whether you are an absolute beginner or an experienced surfer you will have a blast and sharpen your skills in the surf at the same time.
Each lesson starts with the basics and then progresses to gradually improve your surfing ability. The Coastlife instructors will be in the water encouraging you and identifying ways to better your style.
Coastlife Adventures provide soft beginner boards with a leg rope plus a wetsuit for your lesson.

Learn Stand Up Paddle (SUP)
Stand Up Paddling, or SUPing, is the new exciting ocean sport that people of all ages are taking up. Originally from the Hawaiian Islands, SUPing is the ideal sport to strengthen your core muscles, improve your balance and explore either the estuary environment or ride the waves on the beach.
Your Coastlife Adventures instructor will teach you the skills of SUPing step by step on our stable SUP boards. All the necessary equipment including wetsuits are provided.

Bega River Kayak Tour
This scenic kayaking journey begins at Mogareeka at the mouth of the Bega River near Tathra and finishes at Black Fellows Lagoon. The 3.5 hour tour follows the sweeping bends of the river and stops off at a picturesque swimming spot for morning tea. An experienced and informative guide will set a relaxed pace and deliver fascinating facts along the way. Families are very welcome.
Coastlife Adventures will transfer you back to your vehicle at Mogareeka at the end of the experience.

Mimosa Raft & Ramble Tour
Join Coastlife Adventures for an exciting day of adventure in Mimosa Rocks National Park near Tathra. Together with your local guide you will build a raft, cross beautiful Bithry Inlet on your vessel and then hike to Picnic Point for a delicious picnic lunch. This is a fun day tour suitable for the whole family.

EXPLORE THE BUSH AND BAYS
Spend an hour, a day, or more, bush walking in the National Parks and reserves around Tathra. There are many short and medium distance walks within a 20km radius. Make sure you wear strong footwear, carry food and water and take clothing suitable for changing weather conditions.
Kangarutha Walking Track – a challenging walk is a 9km hike from Kianniny Bay in Tathra to Wallagoot Lake. The walking track meanders along the rugged coastline with sandy and pebbly beaches and spectacular cliffs.
Fords Headland – get on your bike, or hire one for the day from Tathra Beach & Bike, and follow the bike track north out of Tathra, over the bridge at Mogareeka and first turn right into Bay St. At the end of the road you will enter Mimosa National Park at Fords Headland. RIde up around the headland, following the tracks until you get to the sign for Moon Bay. Continue down til you find yourself at a beautiful secluded beach of your own to explore.
VISIT THE FALLS
Too hot for the beach. Then plan a day out at the Mumbulla Falls.
The natural rock water slide on the Mumbulla Creek is a popular swimming spot. A timber walkway, suitable for wheel chairs) leads to a viewing platform over the falls. Information on the cultural significance of the area is located on the walk to the falls. A great day out. Facilities include barbecues, picnic tables and toilets.
A special place of customary lores and teaching to the Yuin people of the South Coast of NSW, Mumbulla Creek Falls area is “sacred and a part of Mother Earth”. Respect must be shown at all times.
Location: To get there travel north from Tathra on the Tathra-Bermagui Road until you come to a T-Junction. Turn left up the Dr George Mountain Road and follow this until you come to a right hand turn marked Mumbulla Creek Falls. It is well worth the drive.
GET DRESSED UP ... IT'S RACE DAY
A big day out for all the family at the Sapphire Coast Races. Just a few minutes drive from Tathra, Sapphire Coast Turf Club is situated on a picturesque 300 acre site just off Sapphire Coast Drive at Kalaru. It is one of the newest and most modern country racecourses in NSW with great spectator facilities. Patrons can enjoy an unobstructed view of the racing action from most parts of the course including the Members Reserve and Function Centre and from the large, banked lawn areas.
Nine race meetings are held during the season with jockeys and trainers coming from all over south eastern NSW and East Gippsland to compete. Facilities include a Function Centre, as well as race day functions. The course offers visitors a variety of services including TAB, local and interstate bookmakers, food and beverage services, free buses to and from Tathra, and picnic and family friendly areas. HIT A ROUND OF GOLF
Tathra Beach Country Club provides a superb all weather golf course and Tennis facility just a stone’s throw from Tathra’s main beach.
It is a gem of a golf course. Fairways are well grassed and undulating and the greens are good. The course follows the winding contours of the Bega River’s estuary – Mogareeka Inlet – so expect lovely water views. There is also abundant wildlife.
The nine hole layout has different tee placements to enable a very satisfying 18 hole round of golf. The course is easy walking and given the proximity to the sea stands up to wet weather extremely well.
‘Don’t Work Won’t Work’ Mens competition is on Thursdays, and then again on Saturdays. Ladies competition golf is on Tuesdays and Saturdays. There is a mixed competition on the last Sunday of each month.
Visitors are always welcome. Please check in with Club staff regarding starting sheets.
Tennis Court Hire available most days. Full clubhouse facilities available seven days per week, all year, except Christmas Day.

BAREFOOT BOWLS
On a balmy afternoon or evening gather your friends together and head on down to the Tathra Bowlo for a game of barefoot bowls.
